Repsol begins production at the Shenzi deepwater field in the Gulf of Mexico

  • The producing platform has a nominal capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil/day and 50 million cubic feet/day.
  • Initial development includes seven wells tied back to the platform with an expected expansion to a total of 15 wells.
  • The project was completed ahead of time and within budget.
  • Repsol holds 72 licenses in US waters of the Gulf of Mexico, one of the world’s most attractive deepwater areas and one of Repsol’s ten key strategic projects.
