We show our know-how in the IT3D 3D printing webinar

Chemical News 05/05/2022

We participated in the online training organized by the IT3D printer manufacturer aimed at the academic, university, and research environment. We exposed during the training our know-how in additive manufacturing with pellets with your Tumaker printer.

Webinar details

The training pretended to analyze the advantages that the machine Tumaker 3D printing in pellets format offers to the new polymeric, ceramic, and metallic materials research field. The webinar was aimed especially at universities, technology centers, R&D departments, and researchers of this type of material.

Our colleague Susana Rodríguez, Doctor in the mechanical behavior of polymeric materials and Senior Chemical Engineer, provided the industry point of view on 3D printing. During her explanation, she showed our experience with the small-size pellet printers that we have in our laboratories. She also talked about the research and development of new grades for 3D printing in pellets, showing some uses of both the products we have on the market and this technology in our facilities.

In our product PP·3D portfolio for additive manufacturing, we have three polypropylene pellets grades and two compounds with mineral fillers and fiberglass, respectively. These materials can be used as raw materials for filament or directly in direct pellet printers and offer excellent mechanical properties and processability.

“IT3D asked us to participate in this webinar to contribute our know-how as a company and as its collaborators. We have also offered a market vision, and it has allowed us to present the different polypropylene grades that we have developed for this type of printing. Both companies are interested in promoting not only the technology but also the products for additive manufacturing with pellets,” says Susana Rodríguez.

Antonio Iborra, head of the IT3D Group Materials Department, and Mª Ángeles Pérez, professor at the University of Zaragoza and the Aragón Engineering Research deputy director Institute, also participated.

We want to thank IT3D for having offered us the opportunity to participate in this webinar and to be able to contribute our vision and know-how as a 3D printing industry.
