Marísol Bermúdez Uyarra, Technical Assistance and Polyethylene Development Manager at Repsol Química, presented the circular solutions we offer in the framework of a virtual congress on innovation, promoted by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and organized by SusChem and Feique.

On the one hand, Repsol Reciclex® obtained through mechanical recycling, by which pre- and post-consumer plastic waste is incorporated into the virgin resin, which maintains its properties of quality, consistency and functionality. It is intended for non-food packaging, shrink film or rigid packaging.

On the other hand, we also have Repsol Reciclex® that incorporates plastic waste obtained through chemical recycling, resulting in a circular polyolefin with identical properties to those of fossil origin and suitable for food, hygiene, cosmetic or medical applications, among others.

In addition, she presented our new monomaterial solutions, which with an ecodesign approach propose 100% recyclable alternatives for packaging. For Marisol Bermúdez, "Ecodesign is one of the cornerstones of Repsol's circular economy strategy and involves incorporating criteria from the design phase of our products that make it possible to rationalize the consumption of raw materials in their production, lengthen their useful life and increase the subsequent recyclability of its components."

This concept represents an opportunity to promote an entire market of new and alternative products and technologies that offer greater consumer confidence in terms of safety and environmental and social benefits throughout the entire value chain.
