This recognition, granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, highlights our track record in implementing innovative solutions and our ongoing commitment to research and development (R&D), investing in advanced technologies and projects that seek to reduce carbon emissions and develop new renewable energy sources.
The National Innovation and Design Awards "are Spain's most important recognition" in these two areas, highlighting "the talent of the award-winning individuals and organizations in addressing the challenges of the future with a unique perspective through design and innovation," according to Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities.

Our R&D&I center, Repsol Technology Lab, with nearly 230 scientists and technologists, the Ideaction proof-of-concept platform, and the Corporate Venturing unit, demonstrate how we have placed innovation at the heart of our business strategy.
In addition to developing disruptive technological solutions focused on energy efficiency and the circular economy, we go further.
Under an open innovation model, we work in a network, establishing alliances and collaborations with research centers, universities, startups, and companies around the world. Consistent with the Spanish Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy 2021-2027 (EECTI), this integrated model aims to connect our researchers with entrepreneurs, startups, and other stakeholders in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to turn our challenges into opportunities, and to do so in the most agile way possible.
