The Repsol Technology Lab is an example of one of the most cutting-edge private R&D models in Spain. It's based on open innovation and a network of partnerships encompassing technology centers, businesses, and universities worldwide, whose objective is to seek sustainable solutions to achieve a more efficient and competitive lower-carbon business.
The laboratory of the future is here!
Artificial intelligence, 5G, robotics, IoT... These are some of the technologies that come together in our autonomous laboratory, the first in Spain and a global pioneer in the energy sector.
In this laboratory we are able to formulate renewable lubricants and fuels, produced from waste, in a much more agile way, as we can accelerate the design of new "recipes" in which a great variety of raw materials of renewable origin are used
The Spanish Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence has entrusted in our Self Driving Lab project for its contribution to accelerating the energy transition, supporting this activity through the Red.es program, financed by the EU through the Next Generation funds.

Promoting excellence in research
In November 2021, the Repsol Technology Lab was recognized with the European “HR Excellence in Research” award.
This award, from the European Commission through the mechanism, "The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)," represents a recognition of Repsol's commitment to the development and continuous improvement of a human resources strategy for researchers in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
This recognizes that Repsol guarantees open and transparent hiring processes of researchers based on meritocracy and capabilities, and it also seeks to develop a favorable work environment for researchers to carry out their activity in the best conditions, which will result in more added value and to generate talent attraction for the Repsol Technology Lab.
